I’m Xiang, a final year DPhil student from Hertford College. My current studies focus on construction of various high-valent transition metal centres and investigation of their structure and catalytic properties towards water oxidation reactions. I enjoy linstening to music and playing Nintendo switch games in my spare time.
Dongpei Ye
Hi, I am Dongpei, a fourth year Dphil student from Wolfson college. My research interest lies on the catalytic decomposition of ammonia as a promising method for hydrogen storage and transfer. I finished my Bsc and MRes at Imperial college London. In my spare time, I also enjoy playing football, traveling and cooking.
Dorottya Szalay
I’m Dóri, a fourth year DPhil student from Wolfson College. I received my MSci Chemistry degree from Imperial College London. My current research focuses on the development of new phosphide catalysts for electrochemical reactions. In my spare time, I enjoy hiking, baking and sailing - but only if it's sunny!
Haozhe Zhang
I’m Haozhe, a fourth year DPhil student from St Hilda’s College. I am working on nitrogen containing perovskite nanostructures for water splitting under visible light illumination. Outside of chemistry, I enjoy reading, James Joyce and Butler Yeats are my heroes! I also play DOTA 2 on position 4 and 5.
Mengqi Duan
Hello, I am Mengqi, a fourth-year DPhil student from St Cross College. I am working on visible-light-responsive perovskite nanostructures for photocatalytic water splitting. I received my BEng degree from Wuhan University of Technology and MS degree from Cornell University. I enjoy cooking, watching movies, and hiking during my spare time.
Renzo Leeflang
Hello, I am Renzo. I am a fourth year DPhil student from St. Anne’s College. My main interest is CO2 catalysis. My project will centre around higher alcohol synthesis from CO2. It will involve both experimental and computational research using Density Functional Theory. Before arriving at Oxford, I finished my undergrad studies at University College Utrecht (UCU) in the Netherlands, where I majored in Chemistry and Mathematics. In my free time I love to cook and go to salsa classes.
Zhiyang Zhong
My name is Joseph and I am a fourth year DPhil student at St Catherine’s College. I obtained a MEng Materials Engineering degree from University of Exeter. I am working with Prof Tsang, as well as Prof Kirkland from Materials Department. My research project involves performing synthesis and characterisation, on perovskite samples. Perovskite can be potentially used as a photocatalyst to disintegrate water and obtain hydrogen, as a source of clean energy. My aim is to discover the relationship between the fine structures and catalytic performances of the perovskite samples.
Amy Radford
Hi, I’m Amy – a 4th year DPhil student on the OxICFM CDT, from Brasenose College. My research interests are centred around sustainability in industry and solar-catalysis. Under the supervision of Prof. Edman Tsang, I’m designing core-shell magnetic nanoparticles to be used a co-catalysts in advanced solar-catalytic water-splitting systems. I’m also working with my co-supervisor, Prof. Philipp Kukura, on the imaging of inorganic nanoparticles using the novel optical technique, Mass Photometry. Outside of the lab, I like to spend my time… outside.
Jiasi Li
Hi, I am Jiasi – a third year PhD student in the Tsang group from St. Edmund Hall, and I am co-funded by Diamond. After four-year study at University of Cambridge, I received my Msci and BA degree. Contributing to solving energy scarcity and promoting sustainability, my research focuses on catalysts for ammonia decomposition. By applying operando X-ray diffraction, I aim to elucidate reaction mechanisms and optimize materials’ activity to generate green hydrogen. In my spare time, I enjoy travelling and dancing.
Dk Amirah Pg Aliuddin
Assalamualaikum and Greetings! I'm DK Amirah from Brunei Darussalam. As a second-year DPhil student at St Cross College, Oxford University, my research journey explores the captivating realm of catalytic ammonia decomposition. Unlocking the potential of Transition metals catalysts supported with Electrides, I aspire to contribute to the green energy revolution by enhancing hydrogen production for sustainable applications.
Mingyu Luo
Hi guys, I’m Marvin. I’m from Chengdu, Sichuan, China. I use Simulations (DFT, classical & ab-initial Molecular Dynamic, Kinetic Monte-Carlo, Machine-Learning) and Characterizations to discover the mechanisms of Electrides being used in Ammonia Synthesis.
At my leisure, I’m ‘addicted’ to spicy foods and alcohols (especially when I’m a bit emo). I play FIFA, RPG & DND 3A games and I also play snookers and American/British Pools. I won some prizes in singing competitions before so I’d love to go to KTV with friends. I also play Texas Hold’em & Black Jack so if you guys want to earn some money from me by card games please feel free to contact me.
